Wind Farm Piekło

The Piekło Wind Farm project is implemented by SPV Polenergia Farma Wiatrowa 16 Sp. z o.o. The Piekło Wind Farm is located in the Międzychód poviat, in the Międzychód gmina in cadastral districts Tuczępy, Mnichy, Kamionna and in the area of the Kwilcz gmina in the Mechnacz district. In 2012, the Piekło Wind Farm project underwent the environmental impact assessment procedure, carried out by a competent authority, namely the Międzychód Mayor. During the procedure, the State Sanitary Inspector and the Regional Environmental Protection Directorate were consulted, in line with the requirements of the environmental protection law. The procedure also allowed for the participation of stakeholders. It ended with issue of a decision on environmental constraints permitting the construction of up to fourteen wind turbines and the required infrastructure. The project also received a permit for the construction of six wind turbines along with the accompanying infrastructure. However, the company ultimately decided to build six wind turbines. The capacity of individual Vestas V110 wind turbines will amount to 2.2 MW. The total installed capacity of the wind farm will be 13.2 MW.

On 26 November 2020, based on the announcement about the auction of 1 October 2020, the auction for sale of electricity from renewable sources, AZ/7/2020, was held. Following the “AZ/7/2020” auction that was won, the Piekło project with a capacity of 13.2 MW received 15-year support. Work related to the Piekło Wind Farm is currently at the stage of schedule preparation, choosing the wind turbine supplier and updates of the agreements already held by the company.
