Michał Michalski, Ph.D.

President of the Management Board of Polenergia S.A., CEO

  • Expert with international operational experience in building value of power sector companies.
  • Since 2012 in the Polenergia Group, where he supervises the investment portfolio of the Polenergia Capital Group in the area of strategy and business development, photovoltaics, and primarily wind energy.
  • Since 2001, Michalski has been affiliated with the Kulczyk Investments Group, where he held the position of the Investment Director of private equity operations of the Kulczyk Investments Group in the oil, gas and energy sector.
  • Graduate of the Poznań University of Economics and Business in the field of foreign trade; completed post-graduate studies “Executive Studies in Finance” organised by the SGH Warsaw School of Economics. In 2001, Michalski received the title of doctor of economics at the Poznań University of Economics and Business on theory of enterprise value for shareholders.


Jarosław Bogacz, PH.D.

Member of the Management Board of Polenergia S.A.

  • Bogacz joined the Polenergia Group in 2019 and holds the function of the President of Management Board of Polenergia Obrót.
  • Jarosław Bogacz has been working in the field of electric utilities for 20 years. Between 2005 and 2019, he served as the Wholesale Market Director for the EDF Group in Poland, as well as the Business Development Director for the ENGIE Group in Poland. Between 2015 and 2016, Bogacz was a counsellor to the Minister of Economy for renewable energy and the first President of the Renewable Energy Settlement Operator (OREO).
  • He is a member of the Board of the Polish Association of Professional Heat and Power Plants, a member of the Association of Energy Trading (TOE) and the Polish Power Plants Association.
  • Graduate of the faculty of electric engineering of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. In 2019, he also completed his doctoral studies at the Silesian University of Technology. In 2020, Bogacz received a doctorate in engineering and technical sciences from the Silesian University of Technology.


Tomasz Kietliński

Member of the Management Board of Polenergia S.A., CFO

  • Kietliński has been working for the Polenergia Group since 2011. Since 2020 he holds the function of Member of the Board and Chief Financial Officer. Before that, he managed the work of the Corporate Finance and Controlling Department and was responsible for financial planning and managerial reporting in the Group. He has also completed numerous processes to procure debt financing and participated in multiple M&A transactions.
  • Before joining Polenergia, Tomasz Kietliński gained professional experience in PwC where he offered financial risk management advice for the largest Polish financial institutions and enterprises, as well as audited financial statements of leading companies in the financial sector.
  • Graduate of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics with a degree in Finance and Banking. Tomasz Kietliński has also completed Canadian Executive MBA studies organized by the University of Quebec at Montreal and the SGH Warsaw School of Economics, as well as postgraduate studies in risk management of financial institutions. He holds an AMCT degree and is a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers in the UK.


Piotr Maciołek

Member of the Management Board of Polenergia S.A., COO

  • Chief Operating Officer in the Polenergia Group since 2016, responsible for running, maintaining and operating all operating projects. Between 2008 and 2016,
  • Maciołek was responsible for development and operation of industrial and conventional power engineering projects in the Polenergia Group and the PEP Group. Between 2004 and 2008, he handled finances of the largest biomass industrial power engineering project implemented by the PEP Group at the Mondi Świecie paper mill. Maciołek has extensive operating experience acquired in such companies as Telekomunikacja Polska, Sony Music Entertainment Polska and Master Foods Polska.
  • Graduate of the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw. In 2001, he received the MBA title from the University of Minnesota under the WEMBA programme run by the SGH Warsaw School of Economics and the University of Minnesota.


Iwona Sierżęga

Member of the Management Board of Polenergia S.A.

  • One of the few Polish women managing electric power sector companies. Iwona has been active in the power industry for over 21 years. For a number of years, Sierżęga held the position of Financial Director and subsequently served as the President of the Management Board and Director General of 116 MW Nowa Sarzyna CHP plant, which is owned by the Polenergia Group. In 2019, Sierżęga was appointed a Member of the Management Board of Polenergia S.A., supervising the Clean Fuel and Environmental Protection Division, where new hydrogen projects are developed and activities for the sake of sustainable business development are carried out.
  • As the second woman in history she was awarded with the “White Tiger Laurel” of the Polish energy sector. She was included in the prestigious “100 Business Women” ranking organised by Puls Biznesu three times; Iwona was also nominated personality of the year in the category of efficient company management with simultaneous focus on broadly understood social activities.
  • Since September 2020, Iwona has been a member of the Programme Council of Global Compact Network Poland, focusing on priority areas of United Nations Global Compact, such as human rights, environmental protection, employee rights and fight with corruption.
  • Iwona Sierżęga is a graduate of the Cracow University of Economics with a specialisation in finance and banking; she also completed post-graduate studies in accounting and MBA at the Stockholm University of Business.
