The Grabowo WF is the third wind farm opened by Polenergia in 2023. Recently, the Group launched the Piekło Wind Farm with a capacity of 13.2 MW in Wielkopolska, and in the first half of this year – the Dębsk Wind Farm located in Mazovia. The investment with a capacity of 121 MW is one of the largest wind farms in Poland.
The power of individual Vestas V110 wind turbines installed at the Grabowo Wind Farm is 2.2 MW. One turbine, working at full power, can produce the energy needed to drive an electric car up to 200 km in just a minute.
The windmill gondolas are mounted 125 meters above the ground. The length of the blades is 55 meters. The total height of each windmill, including the blades, is 180 meters.
The Grabowo WF project won the auction in December 2021. Its construction began in April 2022 and ended in September 2023 with obtaining a license to generate electricity.
In the near future, Polenergia also plans to launch the Strzelino Photovoltaic Farm. The solar power plant with a capacity of 45.2 MWp is located in the Słupsk gmina. The construction of the Strzelino PF is planned to be completed in the first half of 2024.
The supplier of turbines and the entity providing technical service for a period of 30 years from the date of commissioning of the Grabowo WF is Vestas.
The contractor for comprehensive construction works related to foundations for wind turbines, adaptation of access roads for oversized transport, modernization of existing roads, construction of service roads, assembly platforms, assembly and electrical works and necessary construction works for the GPO power station along with the MV cable network and the HV cable network was Electrum Concreo Sp. z o. o.
The Contract Engineer service during the investment implementation was provided by WSP Polska Sp. z o. o. The construction was monitored by specialists from BIOEKSPERT, responsible for environmental supervision.
