Polenergia has launched a hub of fast charging stations in Warsaw with a total capacity of nearly 1 MW

Polenergia has launched a new hub of fast charging stations in Warsaw. The Green Electromobility Zone was created at the Blue City Shopping Center, right next to Aleje Jerozolimskie. The place intended for electric vehicles consists of three fast DC stations and two AC stations with a total capacity of nearly 1 MW. The new investment of Poland's largest private energy group is a response to the dynamically growing number of electric cars, of which there are already over 120,000 in Poland today.

The number of electric cars in Poland is growing rapidly, and with it – the demand for charging station infrastructure. Polenergia eMobility meets these expectations by commissioning a new hub equipped with fast charging stations with a total capacity of nearly 1 MW. The green zone that we have launched in Warsaw is another strategic place equipped with our electric chargers, after Autostrada Wielkopolska (Wielkopolska Motorway). We create an infrastructure that not only meets, but even exceeds the expectations of modern users of electric vehicles. Our advantage is also the fact that the energy we supply to our charging stations comes from 100% of Polenergia's renewable sources.

The hub consists of three direct current (DC) charging stations and two alternating current (AC) stations with a total capacity of almost 1 MW. This allows 8 electric vehicles to be powered at the same time.

The scope of the investment at Blue City goes beyond the installation of charging stations alone. The Green Electromobility Zone, in addition to a hub for fast charging stations, has also been equipped with a rest area with greenery and benches.

One of them was made of materials from recycled wind turbine. The zone is a space intended for drivers and their families, who can use it while charging their vehicles.

Polenergia eMobility is responsible for the expansion of Polenergia’s electric vehicle charging network. The stations are powered by electricity in the “Energy 2051” standard, which comes from renewable sources owned by the Group.

During the hours when the overproduction of electricity from RES reaches its peaks, Polenergia eMobility offers significant price reductions for users of charging stations.

Renowned station manufacturer

The fast-charging stations in the newly opened hub were supplied by a renowned manufacturer – Siemens Sp. z o.o., which specializes in innovative electric vehicle charging solutions.

The technology used in the hub allows for ultra-fast charging, among others thanks to liquid-cooled cables (HPC), as well as optimization of energy use, which translates into the efficiency of the entire system.

The Siemens chargers with an individual power of up to 300 kW installed in the Warsaw hub are the first solutions of this type in Poland. They allow ultra-fast charging of electric vehicles in just 15 minutes. That’s about as much as it takes to drink coffee or use the toilet. We are currently supplying over 30 stations with various capacities to Polenergia. We are proud to participate in this ground-breaking project, which contributes to the development of the electrification of Polish road transport. Our products are manufactured within a controlled chain of environmental resources. Such a process supports our partners in the implementing their ESG-related commitments.

Dynamic development of electromobility

According to data from the Polish New Mobility Association, at the end of July 2024, there were already over 120,000 registered electric cars in Poland.

The “My Electric” program launched by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, since 2021 has supported the purchase of approximately 25,000 vehicles worth approximately PLN 660 million.

Electrification of car fleets is a key element in the implementation of obligations related to ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance), which are increasingly becoming a standard for Polish enterprises.

Currently, there are over 7,500 publicly available charging points in Poland, but experts indicate that this number must at least threefold by 2025 to meet market needs.

Polenergia recently launched the fastest charging stations for electric cars in Poland. Liquid-cooled ultra-fast chargers with a power of 400 kW were installed at the Autostrada Wielkopolska (Wielkopolska Motorway).

The stations are located in the Chociszewo and Rogoziniec Service Areas, halfway between Poznań and Frankfurt (Oder) and close to the S3 expressway. These are the only electric vehicle charging stations in Poland with such high power.

Polenergia already has 22 charging stations with a total capacity of over 2 MW in Warsaw.
