Opportunity for Businesses to Join the Offshore Industry Supply Chain

More than 80 companies participated in Supplier Day, an event organized by Equinor and Polenergia, key players in the development of the Bałtyk offshore wind farm projects. Held on April 2, 2025, in Gdańsk, the event served as a strategic platform for discussing essential aspects of collaboration within the offshore wind sector.

The meeting was aimed at companies seeking to become long-term partners in the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 projects, particularly in the areas of servicing and maintaining offshore wind farms. As a co-developer of the project and the entity responsible for operating the Łeba base, Equinor was actively engaging with businesses for direct collaboration in the operation and maintenance of offshore wind infrastructure.

Among the attendees were representatives of leading service providers specializing in electrical infrastructure, auxiliary infrastructure maintenance, subsea cable management, and specialized solutions, including health & safety services, training, monitoring, inspections, and IT/TelCom solutions.

The Bałtyk 2 and 3 offshore wind farms are flagship projects in Poland’s energy transition. Our discussions with potential suppliers focus on the critical aspects of joining these projects, enabling businesses to seamlessly enter the offshore market and fostering efficient collaboration in delivering these investments.

Deputy Director, Offshore Wind Farm Department, Polenergia

The event also provided valuable insights into the Bałtyk 2 and 3 project timelines, required qualifications, industry standards, and supplier certification processes. Participants had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of infrastructure, service, and operational requirements, which play a vital role in the success of these large-scale investments.

We are pleased with the strong representation of both Polish and international companies at Supplier Day. The event reaffirms the growing interest of businesses in offshore wind development and presents a real opportunity to become part of the supply chain for key offshore projects in Poland.

Past Supplier Day events have attracted Tier 1 suppliers, looking to expand their offshore supply chains for the Bałtyk 2 and 3 projects. Previous meetings facilitated partnership discussions between subcontractors and key industry players, including:
Sif Group, Smulders Project Poland, and Haarema Marine Contractors – focusing on foundation production, transportation, and installation, Seaway7, Jan De Nul, and Hellenic Cables – responsible for internal and export cable supply, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and Hitachi Energy – delivering turbine generators and electrical infrastructure solutions.
